Executive Space Course

The Executive Space Courses (ESC) provide an overview of space and space-related subjects including administration, finance, law, business and management for professionals of diverse backgrounds. The ESC is intended for professionals working in the space sector without a broad space background or professionals currently working outside the space ecosystem that want to develop a better understanding of the rapidly evolving space sector. Executive education can be tailored to specific participants and organizations and is regularly organized by ISU, in person, online or in hybrid mode.

The course, taught in English, aims to:

☞ Provide a neutral and global overview of space and space related subjects

☞ Explain core engineering and technical concepts in a simple manner

☞ Deliver a greater understanding of the challenges and opportunities of the space sector

☞ Give an insight into the traditional space markets (telecom, navigation, earth observation…) as well as new space economy.

Many people think you need to be an engineer or a scientist to be a part of the space sector. This is not the case and the International Space University has a successful record of enabling access for people of all vocations.

Participants will leave the course with knowledge and skills enabling them to understand and communicate more effectively with their colleagues in other disciplines.

They will develop their comprehension and expertise of space related activities and terminology.

This intense course exposes participants to the interdisciplinary, international and intercultural learning environment of the International Space University. The course is conducted through lectures and experiential learning with workshops and case studies. A challenging project encapsulating all major aspects learned during the week and applying concurrent engineering to a modern telecommunications satellite ends the week.

☞ Help staff get a clearer picture of how the global space sector is structured

In partnership with the Luxembourg Space Agency and the Colorado School of Mines

The Space Resources Professional Course (SRPC) provides a broad overview of the space resources field, including the current knowledge of available resources in the Solar System; the resource identification, collection, extraction, and processing systems under development; economic and technical feasibility studies; legal and policy issues; and space exploration architectures and commercial ventures that may be enabled by utilizing extraterrestrial resources.

The course culminates with teams of participants developing a space resource utilization plan for near-term missions to identify, extract, and use resources from the Moon.

Learning Outcomes

At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify types, technologies, and potential customers of space resources
